How much can pressing improve a comic book? The right person on the right comic can be very impressive. Check out this thread on the CGC forums for an amazing example of what occurs under some heat, moisture and pressure.

I know it’s controversial, but there is no question pressing works.

Comic Book Sales Highlights September 5 2012

This week I’ll highlight some sales from the August ComicLink focused auction. It looks like sales were brisk with a lot of money changing hands.

Some of the top sales were:

Action #1 CGC 8.0 restored $106,222
Showcase #22 CGC 9.2 $66,000
Avengers #4 CGC 9.6 $39,000, CGC 9.4 $14,805 (compare this with the Ohio Pedigree CGC 9.6 copy that sold for $91,501!)
Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 8.0 $29,000
Incredible Hulk #181 CGC 9.8 $20,000
Daredevil #7 CGC 9.6 $22,805 (This was pretty amazing to me, it is the first red suit, but still an amazing price for this book)
Silver Surfer #1 CGC 9.8 $14,235
Nick Fury #1 CGC 9.9 $9,977

I recommend you head over to Comiclink and register (it’s free) so you can take a look at these books and access the past auction prices. The Nick Fury 9.9 is something to behold, and there are several other amazing comics on the site.
