Key X-men Values and Investment Survey

The X-men have become one of the most valuable premiere collectible and investment comic book titles over the last few decades. The original team spawned several new characters, off shoot titles and even 4 movies. Let’s look at the key issues of this run, their future potential, and where you can find them for sale now.

All Star Western #10 Investment Survey

All-Star Western #10 is the first appearance of Jonah Hex. It is considered by many to be one of the “must have” Bronze Age keys. The comic book received a boost from the movie, so let’s take a look at this key issue.

All Star Western #10 Price and Value Performance

The comic received a bump due with the movie anticipation, but is trending down as of 2011. CGC 9.4 copies have sold in the $850-$950 range, well off the over $1,500 peak.

My Take
In my opinion, while still a must have issue if you are trying to complete the Bronze Age keys, the price performance of this issue is highly suspect in the future. I could be wrong. If this is a temporary dip, it may be a good time for collectors to buy their copy in case of a price increase. As always, I recommend using my rules for collector only buying.

Showcase #4 Investment Survey

Showcase #4 reintroduced the Flash to a new generation of readers and is considered by many to be the start of the Silver Age of Comics.

Showcase #4 - 1st Silver Age Flash

Showcase #4 1st Silver Age Flash For Sale and Current Prices

Showcase #4 has held it’s value over the years, but has recently been overshadowed by the Marvel stable of characters, especially with Amazing Fantasy #15 hitting the $1 million mark. If DC were to capitalize on this character we may very well see a resurgence in value.
